of Use

By accessing or using Stay Awhile — including by scanning a QR code, making a contribution, or signing in to the dashboard — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Stay Awhile (“Stay Awhile,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a voluntary-contribution platform for coffee shops and coworking cafes. Guests scan a per-table QR code, land on a branded contribution page, and may contribute any amount via Stripe-hosted checkout. We provide participating shops and organizations with tooling, reporting, and analytics.

Shops are independent businesses. Stay Awhile is not the seller of any goods or services offered by a shop and is not a party to any in-person transaction between you and a shop.

Contributions made through Stay Awhile are entirely voluntary. You may contribute any amount you choose; there is no obligation to contribute in order to visit or use a participating space.

Contributions are gifts to the shop and are generally non-refundable. They are not payment for any specific good or service. Any refund is at the sole discretion of the receiving shop and, where granted, is issued through Stripe. Stay Awhile does not guarantee refunds and is not responsible for a shop’s refund decisions.

Stay Awhile retains a platform fee of 10% of each contribution; the remaining 90% is routed to the receiving shop through Stripe Connect. The platform fee covers operation of the service and may be configured for an organization under a separate agreement. Stripe may also assess its own processing fees.

Access to the Stay Awhile dashboard is invite-only. Public sign-up is disabled, and accounts are created only when an authorized administrator issues an invitation. Authentication is handled by Clerk using email magic links or one-time codes.

As a staff user, you agree to:

• Keep your sign-in credentials and access confidential.
• Use the dashboard only within the scope of the role and locations assigned to you.
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access or suspected security issue.
• Be responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems, or to circumvent role- or location-based access controls.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the platform or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the platform except as permitted by law.
• Use the platform to launder money or facilitate prohibited transactions.

The Stay Awhile name, logo, software, design, and content are owned by Stay Awhile or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the platform for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that contributions will reach a shop without delay.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stay Awhile and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the platform will not exceed the greater of the platform fees we received in connection with the relevant contributions or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
